Logi Logi Manta

A first impression of the UI of Manta can be seen [here]!

LogiLogi Manta targets on making incremental philosophical and humanities-related discussions possible. Core values are openness, relativism and quality. It stands opposite to the use of threads or looseness to the point of chaos found in the discussion-fora and wikis of today.

The Manta version of LogiLogi is under development in [Ruby on Rails]. A first version will be released soon.

It can be quickly described as wiki + tagging + rating, where rating is from the viewpoints of different peer-groups. Anyone can start a peer-group, and one's voting-power within a peer-group is determined by the ratings ones own articles received from the other members of the peer-group. But it's more than this.

Features
  • Page locking is normal. Pages are not uniquely defined by their titles or their names (as in wikis) but by a page-id. This allows multiple pages behind one name, so already on this level there is space for both intellectuel responsibillity and open-ness.
  • Pages can be viewed and rated from different peergroups. Visitors can choose to use the "view" of a certain peergroup. If multiple pages have the same name or if there is a page-listing somewhere (like Incoming Links) the pages are ranked according to rating (from that peergroup)
  • Pages (Logis) are tagged. A tag can be seen as a mathematical set containing pages. Tags will replace the Sections that LogiLogi has now.
  • Tags are used in links to access pages (President/Roosevelt will select pages tagged with President and Roosevelt).
  • Links can be to tags, to Logi-id's and to Logi-versions. Links to tags link first to one logi, but as more content is added, they can link to an entire cluster of logis on that concept/entity. Tag-links are the default.
